When you join The Catholic Co-Op, you gain access to an extensive universe of exclusively Catholic names—but that’s not all.

At The Catholic Co-Op, we understand that all Catholic prospects are not created equal. That’s why we’ve made it our unique mission to model the Catholic universe at a truly granular level to help you find the exact audience you need to grow.

For us, it’s about more than data and response … it’s about building relationships between Catholic prospects and your organization.

Easy process:

  • You join The Catholic Co-Op by sharing your donor, buyer, or subscriber data via secure FTP.

  • We produce profile reports of your donors and review with you what we’ve learned.
  • We determine which audience from our Co-Op will help you meet your marketing goals and cherry-pick the database for your best prospects.
  • You receive a prospect list carefully tailored for optimal fundraising results.

Our Models=Your Best Prospects

Through The Catholic Co-Op, you gain access to millions of exclusively Catholic prospects plus powerful predictive modeling that will help you find the target audience to meet your specific direct marketing objectives.

While our modeling capabilities are constantly evolving, here are a few of the models The Catholic Co-Op currently offers its members:

Acquisition Modeling

Identifying responsive acquisition prospects is one of the top challenges marketers face today. Modeling can help clients overcome this challenge. There are two basic types of audience modeling:
  • Response/Mailed Match Models:

This model is based on the characteristics of previous campaign or solicitation responders. It seeks to utilize past response as a predictor for future behavior, building lists of prospects—individuals who will likely respond to a specific direct marketing appeal.

  • Lookalike or Profile Models:

This model type uses the attributes of your existing donors, buyers, or subscribers (demographic, psychographic, and consumer data points, giving history, etc.) to search for other prospects who look most like them and are likely to behave in similar ways. The result—a list of new prospects that respond in comparable ways to those on your housefile.

From these two models, we can build models based on more specific objectives, such as:

  • Ask String Optimization:

This model looks at ‘buckets’ of donors by contribution range to determine what makes each bucket level unique. Once known, we apply this model to existing donors in order to determine the correct ask string for a direct mail or digital appeal. Doing so allows Members to maximize the average donation received without sacrificing response.

  • High Dollar Models:

This model begins by honing in on the individuals within your house file who have given at a certain level and uses those profiles and/or transactional histories to accurately target new high value donors, buyers, or subscribers for your organization.

  • Multi-Donor/High Loyalty Models:

Rather than modeling based on giving amount, a multi-donor or high loyalty model focuses in on the individuals who have given, for example, two or more times. Here, we seek out other prospects within The Catholic Co-Op that match those profile or response models.

  • High Response Models:

This type of model maximizes response rates by looking for new prospects that look like your existing donors, buyers, or subscribers but also show a high propensity to respond across a number of organizations. This model seeks to deliver a list of highly responsive prospects that promise a good return for a specific direct marketing campaign.

  • Appeal Type Models:

This modeling, unique to The Catholic Co-Op, looks specifically for prospects who have responded well to specific types of appeals—devotional, novena, seminarian, etc.—and helps you find the audience that will respond to your unique offer.

Merge Optimization Modeling

Reduce campaign expense without sacrificing response

Our merge optimization model provides mailers with a viable and proven solution to reduce prospecting costs and increase overall campaign results.

Simply put, our optimization tool uses the opposite of “Look-Alike targeting” techniques. Instead of applying a model of those who look like our best prospects to an unknown universe, we apply the model to a rented prospect file and drop those records that are least likely to respond. By doing so, we reduce marketing expense without damaging response.

House File Modeling

Reduce campaign expense without sacrificing response

Audience modeling using a cooperative database can also help members gain insight into their own houseflies by offering a more complete portrait of individual behavior. These insights can be used to determine your best prospects for:

  • Lapsed Donor Reactivation
  • Conversion (Premium-Non-Premium)
  • Monthly Giving
  • Middle & High $ Donor Upgrades

*Because The Catholic Co-Op was only recently launched, we are not yet offering house file modeling. However, we expect to be ready to offer this service to our members soon.
